Hello, my name is Jarrod.
My work and life experiences are somewhat unique. I was born in the bush, grew up by the ocean, and spent 30+ years working in family owned businesses & start-ups.
Personal Life
I was born in rural Victoria, a Mallee boy at heart. In the early 80s, my family moved to Queensland, where I spent my weekends camping, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors with my loved ones.
I received my education on the Sunshine Coast, and it was there that I met the love of my life, Kerri. We got married, now have two beautiful daughters & adopted a loveable Golden Retriever,
We love camping, fishing, spending time on the reef & socialising with friends & family!
A sporting fanatic, I currently coach both of my daughters in the Yeppoon Swans u15 girls side. A dedicated Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Maroons fan (NRL) and Richmond Tigers tragic (AFL).
My wife, Kerri, is a qualified Midwife and initially worked at Rockhampton Base Hospital. I am mobile with work & we reside in the laid-back lifestyle of Emu Park!
We love nothing more than being social, spending as much time with our closest friends and family as possible

Professional Life
With 26 years of invaluable experience in camping goods retail as a family business working along side my parents.
Professionally trained and self educated in all areas of small business (SME), and studied the science and psychology of shopping (ie: Why & how we buy).
Spent 15 years training under a corporate mentor (previous national finance manager for one of Australia’s big 4 banks), we successfully repositioned a niche camping retail brand.
This is where my 15 years of brand repositioning and personal brand and marketing education took place.
WACTW
The founder of a personal brand called The Camping Guru™, which has now evolved into a corporate brand as a Cultural Eco-Tourism - Hi-Tech Start-Up, where I serve as co-founder and on the board and brains trust. Sadly this business has been shelved due to the impact of Covid-19 on the international tourism market & the ill health of a founding member
Additionally, I have previously advised on a cultural (urban) RV start-up in Melbourne, and recently founded a for-purpose start-up called WOMEN ARE CHANGING THE WORLD, designed as a Women’s Mental Health support Program called ‘Know Your Worth.’
